EXPORT GUIDE

How to Export the Sierra Chart Trade Activity Log (No Plugin Needed)

Sierra Chart's Trade Activity Log holds every fill with entry and exit timestamps — and exporting it takes a minute, no ACSIL DLL or study required. This guide walks through the export, then you can drop the file in the box below and see your real win rate, P&L, and equity curve instantly, free, no account needed.

Why traders can try Aurafy safely

Aurafy is a young, independent trading journal. It earns trust by keeping the local app usable without an account, making desktop data exportable, and being clear about which features are free and which require Pro.

Local-first desktop
Your desktop journal works locally; cloud sync is optional.
No lock-in posture
Desktop data lives in SQLite and can be exported/backed up.
~50% off the stack
Aurafy Pro is $48.88/mo, replaces the ~$103/mo stack of journal + screen recording + bar-replay backtester. The backtester chart is free for everyone; Pro unlocks unlimited simulated trades, history jumps, analytics and exports.

The result is the number your platform showed you, after commission. That is the whole entry: no fill prices, no CSV, no import.

Step-by-step: exporting from Sierra Chart

In Sierra Chart: (1) open the Trade menu → Trade Activity Log. (2) Set the date range you want to journal. (3) Use the log's export option to write the activity to a file — Sierra emits a delimited file with columns like Trade Type, Trade Quantity, Entry DateTime, Exit DateTime, and Entry/Exit Price. (4) Save it as .csv or .txt — the importer reads both.

Auto-detected on drop

The importer fingerprints Sierra's header shape — the Entry DateTime / Exit DateTime pair plus the Trade Type + Trade Quantity + Entry/Exit Price column set — so there is no manual column mapping for the standard export. Detection is whitespace-insensitive, so Entry DateTime and Entry Date Time both work.

Edited the file in Excel first? Still fine.

A lot of traders open the export in Excel to redact an account number before sharing or importing — and Excel silently rewrites timestamps into single-digit-hour forms like 5/13/2026 9:35 that naively parse as invalid dates. The importer zero-pads and normalizes these before pairing, so your trades still sort chronologically and longs/shorts pair correctly. This exact failure mode came from real traders' files; it's handled.

What you get from the preview

Win rate, total P&L, average R (when the export carries enough to derive risk, or from your default risk), your biggest losing day, and a trade-by-trade equity curve — computed from your file, free, before any account exists. From there, one click moves the parsed trades into a free journal where the full review stack applies: per-setup R expectancy, time-of-day breakdowns, playbook, and psychology tags.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see my stats before creating an account?
Yes. The drop-zone on this page (and on the aurafy.dev homepage) parses your CSV and shows your win rate, total P&L, average R, and equity curve with no account at all. Nothing is saved unless you decide to keep it.
Do I need to install anything inside Sierra Chart?
No. The Trade Activity Log export is built into Sierra — no plugin, study, or DLL. Aurafy only reads the exported file.
CSV or TXT?
Either. Sierra often writes .txt by default; the importer reads both and detects the delimiter automatically.
I route Rithmic through Sierra — which guide applies?
Both work. Export whichever is closer to hand: Sierra's Trade Activity Log (this page) or the Rithmic Fill History — the importer auto-detects each.
Does it compute R-multiples from Sierra exports?
When the export carries enough to derive your risk, yes; otherwise R comes from your configured default risk, or you can set a stop per trade after import.
