EXPORT GUIDE
How to Export NinjaTrader 8 Executions (and Journal Them in a Minute)
NinjaTrader 8 records every execution in the Control Center — exporting them to CSV takes four clicks. This guide shows exactly where the export lives, which grid to use, and what to do with the file: drop it in the box below and see your real win rate, P&L, and equity curve instantly, free, no account needed.
Aurafy is a young, independent trading journal. It earns trust by keeping the local app usable without an account, making desktop data exportable, and being clear about which features are free and which require Pro.
Step-by-step: exporting from NinjaTrader 8
In NinjaTrader 8: (1) open the Control Center. (2) Go to the Trades or Executions tab — Executions gives one row per fill, which is what pairs most accurately. (3) Set your account and date range filters at the top of the grid. (4) Right-click anywhere in the grid → Export → save as CSV. NT8 uses a consistent column format across accounts, so there is nothing to configure.
What the importer does with NT8 executions
NT8 exports one row per fill, not per trade. The importer auto-detects the NT8 format on drop and pairs fills into closed trades with a FIFO stack — partial fills, scale-ins, and scale-outs come out as clean closed positions with weighted-average entries. Each trade gets net P&L in dollars and ticks, duration, and an R-multiple (from your default risk, since the executions grid doesn't carry stop prices — export the Orders grid instead if you want stops included).
Multiple accounts: sim, eval, live
If you run Sim101 next to a funded eval and a live account, the Account column in the export keeps them separate. Aurafy maps each NT account to its own journal account on import, so your sim experiments never dilute your live expectancy. This is the single most common analytics mistake NT traders make — mixed sim/live stats that say nothing about either.
Prop firm accounts on NinjaTrader
Topstep, Apex, and most futures prop firms route through NinjaTrader with a Rithmic or CQG adapter — the executions export is identical, so this exact guide applies to eval and funded accounts too. If your firm gives you R | Trader Pro instead, use the Rithmic Fill History export guide. Either way, keeping eval and funded stats separate is the point — see the prop firm journal workflow.
